Our Winter 2010 show is:

Southern Hospitality

Opening Friday, March 5th, and continuing through March 28, Lumiere Players will present the comedy “Southern Hospitality, “ by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope, and Jamie Wooten at the Tualatin Heritage Center.

In a hilarious plot that displays the best, worst, and most endearing of small-town and southern characteristics, the Futrelle sisters and their friends of Fayro, Texas must find a way to save their town from imminent economic collapse.  Everybody pitches in to create a frenetic improvised festival that inevitably ends in total disaster.  To quote a visiting dignitary, “The whole town is nuts!”  Will these crazed and valiant townspeople succeed in wrenching their town back from the jaws of disaster?  Two acts of high jinks prompt the audience to laugh along as the plot unravels.

This show is family-rated for children 6 or older.  The theater is fully accessible with handicapped parking adjacent; plenty of parking behind the police station across the street.

Director Mason Hall of Tigard, ably assisted by Tony Broom of Vancouver, cast six Tualatin residents for this rollicking show:  Tami Biehn, Boh Fisher, Doris Gleason, Preston Hiefield, Andrea McGrady, and Gillian Stratton.  Andrea and Gillian are reprising their roles as Futrelle sisters, as is Nancy Wellman of Damascus.

A fourth Futrelle sister is introduced in this show and is played by Jody Lynn Spradlin of Aloha.  Paul McGuire of Lake Oswego returns in his role of husband to the youngest Futrelle sister, and Pat Romans of Tigard recreates the bossy old town florist.  Keith Jordan of West Linn takes on the role of town sheriff, and Steve Hotaling of Newberg premieres as the simple sage of Fayro.  Rian Turner of Portland rounds out the cast as the young pastor of the Tabernacle of the Lamb.
